About Piedmont Airlines: Piedmont Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the American Airlines Group, operates as a vital part of the American Eagle network. Our mission is to ensure the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. Our Maintenance department is the bedrock of this mission, responsible for the airworthiness of our fleet of Embraer E-145 regional jets. We are seeking skilled, certified, and motivated A&P Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) to join our growing maintenance base in Harrisburg, PA (MDT). This is a hands-on, technical career for individuals who value precision, compliance, and teamwork. While 'no experience' on the E-145 is required (we provide excellent, paid training), a valid FAA A&P license is a non-negotiable requirement. Your New Career – The Role: As a Piedmont A&P Technician, you are directly responsible for the safety of our aircraft, crews, and passengers. Your expertise ensures that our fleet is airworthy and that our flight operations run on schedule. You will perform scheduled maintenance (often during the 'night shift'), unscheduled line maintenance, and complex troubleshooting on our E-145 aircraft. This is a highly technical role that requires a deep understanding of aircraft systems, the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, and an unwavering commitment to safety and quality. Our maintenance bases operate 24/7, so you must be available to work various schedules, including 'night shift', 'day shift', 'weekend shift' rotations, and holidays. Your skills keep us flying safely. The Training – Your Foundation for Success: Your career with us begins with a comprehensive, paid training program, including an in-depth, factory-approved course on the Embraer E-145 systems. Even if you have 'no experience' on this specific airframe, our training will make you a proficient expert. We are committed to continuous learning and provide ongoing recurrent training to keep your skills sharp and ensure you are up-to-date with all regulatory and company standards. Safety is our top priority, and it starts with having the best-trained technicians in the industry. We also provide opportunities for advancement, including run/taxi, RII, and Lead Technician training. A Day in the Life – What to Expect: Your shift will be dynamic and focused on hands-on problem-solving to keep the fleet moving safely. * **Shift Briefing:** Your 'day shift' or 'night shift' starts with a turnover briefing from the previous shift supervisor. You'll review the maintenance status of all aircraft at the base, identify any aircraft-on-ground (AOG) situations, and receive your work assignments for the shift. This could involve line maintenance or heavier overnight checks. * **Line Maintenance (Day/Evening):** You may be assigned to the line, responding to incoming aircraft. This involves meeting the flight on the ramp, communicating with the flight crew about any reported issues (write-ups), and performing rapid troubleshooting and repairs to get the aircraft back out on time. This is a fast-paced environment where quick, accurate problem-solving is essential to minimize delays. * **Overnight Maintenance (Night Shift):** This is the most common shift for heavy checks and scheduled maintenance. You will be assigned to a 'night shift' team in the hangar. This is more in-depth, scheduled maintenance. You will perform detailed inspections (e.g., A-checks, B-checks), service systems (like hydraulics and oil), replace time-limited parts, and complete any deferred maintenance items (MELs). This requires meticulous work and strict adherence to maintenance manuals. * **Troubleshooting:** You will be a technical detective. When an aircraft system (like avionics, hydraulics, pneumatics, or engines) isn't working, you'll use technical manuals, diagnostic equipment, and your expertise to trace the fault and perform the repair. * **Documentation:** Every action you take must be documented. You will be responsible for making accurate and clear logbook entries for all work performed, ensuring a complete and compliant maintenance record for every aircraft. The Lifestyle – Schedule & Environment: This role requires working in a 24/7 environment, primarily in our maintenance hangar at MDT, but also on the airport ramp. You must be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow). Schedules are determined by seniority bid and will include 'night shift', 'day shift', 'weekend shift', and holiday assignments. Maintenance is a team sport, and you'll be working closely with other technicians, inspectors, and stockroom personnel. We foster a culture of safety and mutual respect. Why Piedmont? We offer a stable career with an industry-leading pay scale, large sign-on bonuses, and a direct career path to American Airlines. We offer a Maintenance Technician retention bonus and a bonus for earning your run/taxi certification. We provide paid training, a tool allowance, and a clear path for advancement into Lead, Supervisor, or Quality Control roles. You'll also enjoy outstanding travel privileges on the American Airlines global network. If you are a certified A&P Technician dedicated to safety and quality, we want you on our team.
